What started as a small business in Lemgo, East Westphalia, in 2011 has, within just a few years, become a significant name among European design manufacturers. The Freifrau Manufaktur stands for comfortable seating furniture crafted with great attention to detail.
Together with renowned designers as well as young creators, a portfolio has emerged over the past decade that combines timeless chairs, armchairs, and sofas, embodying 100 percent comfort, versatility, and individuality. The focus is always on quality and sustainability.
Freifrau furniture is sensual, stylish, and elegant, often carrying a feminine character. Each collection is named after a woman, giving them a personality. Amelie was the first Freifrau chair to be created and remains a permanent part of the collection to this day. The various frames for the chairs, armchairs, and stools of the Amelie line that were added over time – whether sled base, cantilever, disc foot, or wood with cross frame – all fit seamlessly into the second Freifrau collection, with the graceful name Leya. This move is not only particularly sustainable, but it also reflects an important aspect of the company’s DNA: the joy of combining and the diversity of each Freifrau line, for which a wide range of high-quality textiles and distinctive leathers are available for selection.
