Mia - a true love story

The versatile appearance of the sofa is characterised by flexibly positionable back and armrests, which are reminiscent of large-format cushions that catch the seated person. Mia is characterised by its modular conception, which allows the sofa to be adapted in size and shape to individual wishes and environments.

Soft and harmonious in form, Mia creates a welcoming atmosphere in any room, inviting its users to really take their time and relax. “The guiding principle for my design approach was to have comfortable armrests and backs, and so I took my inspiration from generously-proportioned cushions,” says the designer. “This offers both an inviting, comfortable appearance and actual functional comfort, too.” “The thick, voluptuous upholstery on the rests of the rectangular modules is, in visual terms, a big, loving embrace,” adds Marc Helweg, Managing Director of Freifrau, “and anyone who sits down on Mia should feel comfortable, relaxed, and able to take refuge from the stresses and strains of everyday life for a moment or two.

Mia offers eleven modules which can be combined in various ways, from a classic two or three-seater sofa set through to an extensive settee suite offering seating options opposite one another or seating islands. These sofa combinations can be further customised by adding stand-alone armchairs or a range of optional cushions. In this way, Mia is a harmonious addition to any indoor environment, from domestic living rooms to elegant hotel lobbies and stylish hospitality lounges.
