Monastery gardens have always been of particular importance. Vegetable and orchards served for self-sufficiency, and medicinal herbs were planted in the herb garden. The Kappel Monastery and the Fahr Monastery offer public and private tours for individuals and groups in their gardens.
The Kappel Monastery is a seminar hotel and educational center of the Evangelical Reformed Church of the Canton of Zurich. It has 76 hotel rooms and a total of 18 seminar rooms and meeting rooms and is open to groups, individual guests, events and private celebrations.
There are times when retreat is the only right thing to do. Away from the hustle and bustle, away from the daily grind. Then you need a place that allows you to relax. A little off the beaten track, but not lonely. Reduced to the essentials, but not barren.
The Kappel Monastery with its newly designed monastery gardens is such a place. Here the power of centuries-old tradition is combined with modern hospitality and sensitivity for a sustainable approach to creation.
We recommend the following offer to garden enthusiasts: 26 - 27 April 2025, Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to Sunday, 4:30 p.m. Herbal medicine in the monastery garden, getting to know and use medicinal plants
