Cannabis is far more than just a controversial plant. Its origins go back thousands of years. The first evidence of its use comes from Central Asia and China, where cannabis was used both as a medicinal plant and for fiber production. The plant later spread to India, the Middle East and Europe. Today, cannabis is cultivated in various climate zones around the world.
Interest in cannabis is growing worldwide and in Switzerland too.
They belong to the hemp family (Cannabaceae) and include several species, including Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica and Cannabis ruderalis. Our plants all contain less than <1% THC and are therefore legal to use. The plant contains numerous cannabinoids, of which THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol) are the best known:
Our CBD-rich seeds contain 16-24% CBD, <1% THC.
Medical cannabis is increasingly being used to treat a variety of conditions, including:
Cannabis is now legally prescribed for medical purposes in many countries, and there are also several pilot projects in Switzerland. Products containing CBD in particular are in high demand, as they do not contain any psychoactive substances.
To cultivate healthy plants with a high CBD content, the right conditions are crucial. Here you can find out everything about seed selection, cultivation methods, care, the flowering phase and harvesting.
Choosing the right seeds is crucial for successful cultivation. There are different varieties with varying CBD and THC content:
💡 Tip: Choose feminized seeds or autoflowering seeds for cultivation.
Strain | Feminized | % CBD | % CBG | % THC | Other |
Fenopure | ✅ | <1% | Up to 16% | <0.2% | CBG-Dominant strain |
Fenoswiss | ✅ | Up to 16% | <1% | <1% | Easy to maintain and resistant. Perfect for beginners |
Fenoqueen | ✅ | Up to 18% | <1% | <1% | Sative hybrid for high yield |
Fenomax | ✅ | Up to 24% | <1% | <1% | Very high CBD content |
Fenocheese | ✅ | Up to 20% | <1% | <1% | Extremely resistant, suitable for indoor and outdoor use |
Fenomed | ✅ | Up to 24% | <1% | <1% | Most active ingredient-rich CBD strain |
Fenomatic | ✅ | Up to 14% | <1% | <1% | Autoflowering strain, does not require regulation of the day-night cycle |
Fiber hemp seed | ❌ | <1% | <1% | <1% | Cultivated and ornamental plant |
Germination can take place in different ways:
1. Damp kitchen paper (popular & effective)
2. direct sowing in soil (gentler on the roots)
3. germination in water
🌱 Tip: A germination rate of 80% is normal. Old or poorly stored seeds have a lower success rate.
Everything you need for cultivation
Vegetation phase - growth & care
After germination, the growth phase (vegetation) begins, during which roots, leaves and stems develop.
Optimal conditions for CBD cannabis:
Factors | Indoor (Artificial light) | Outdoor (Natural light) |
Light | 18 hours of light, 6 hours of darkness | At least 6-8 hours of sun per day |
Temperature | 22–28°C | 20–30°C |
Humidity | 60-70% for young plants, later 40-50% | Natural, avoid too dry air |
Soil / Medium | Airy, nutrient-rich soil with pH 6.0-6.5 | High-quality potting soil with good drainage |
Fertilization | Nitrogen-rich fertilizer in the growth phase | Organic fertilizer such as compost or worm humus |
Watering | Keep evenly moist, but avoid waterlogging | Water in the morning or evening, not in direct sunlight |
💡 Tip: Indoor growers often use LED or HPS lamps. LEDs are more energy-efficient and generate less heat.
The flowering phase begins after 8-12 weeks, depending on the strain. CBD cannabis requires special light and care during this time:
The plant now begins to produce resin, which is full of CBD. The trichomes (small, shiny crystals on the flowers) provide information about the harvest time.
*Autoflowering strains such as Fenomatic start the flowering phase on their own.
The best harvest time is when the trichomes are milky white with some amber-colored heads.
This indicates that the CBD level is at its highest.
🔎 Harvest signs:
✅ Trichomes are milky white (clear sign of high CBD concentration)
✅ Leaves begin to change color (yellow/orange)
✅ Pistils (pistils) turn brown-orange
Harvesting method:
💡 Tip: Slow drying and fermentation significantly improves the aroma, effect and quality.
Compared to many other countries, Switzerland takes a liberal stance on CBD cannabis. Since 2016, the sale and consumption of cannabis with less than 1% THC has been legal. This means:
✅ CBD cannabis is not a narcotic - it can be sold and consumed freely.
✅ Cultivation and sale are permitted as long as the THC content remains below 1%.
✅ Products such as flowers, oils or cosmetics are available as long as they meet the legal requirements.
❌ Cannabis containing more than 1% THC is still illegal, unless it is medical cannabis with a doctor's prescription.
