When I was a kid, I always looked forward to visiting Grandma. There was something special about spending time in her garden. In the middle of her magical garden was an old fountain. On hot summer days, the pool was always filled with clear water that sparkled in the sunlight.
We had a great time splashing about, laughing and feeling the refreshing coolness of the water on our skin, while the lovely scent of lavender lingered in the air.
Today, I remember how this fountain made us kids happy, but it also looked great and was the centrepiece of the garden. Historic fountains are more than just decorations. They tell stories, create atmosphere and – if you like – invite you to bathe and splash around.
